Invisible Tanks

The British Ministry of Defence and Funny Spelling has just unveiled new technology that can make tanks invisible. It uses a bank of cameras and projectors to beam images of the surrounding landscape onto the tank. The result is that someone looking at the tank will see only the landscape behind it.

Even cooler, the Ministry is testing a military jacket that works on the same principle.

This is an interesting piece of military hardware, but I’m already seeing the excellent prank potential.

  1. I’m immediately seeing office and home uses for this technology.

Want to avoid that pesky co-worker? Trying to hide from the boss?

Need to disappear when a family gathering gets even more dysfunctional than usual?

    Perfect. Absolutely perfect.
