‘Battlestar Galactica’: The Worldview

The United Nations and the Sci Fi Channel will present a panel discussion Tuesday evening on the social and political issues raised by the Sci Fi series “Battlestar Galactica,” which concludes on Friday night. Moderated by Whoopi Goldberg (a frequent guest on “Star Trek: The Next Generation”), the topics include human rights, terrorism, and reconciliation and dialogue among civilizations and faiths. Among those participating are “Battlestar” actors Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell, as well as the show’s executive producers, Ronald D. Moore and David Eick. The event is invitation-only.
