Discovery Magazine’s Discoblog has a feature called NCBI ROFL which covers particularly odd scientific studies, such as the one that correlates eye color and sports performance or the one examining indentity exploration in World of Warcraft. They recently posted this gem from PubMed entitled, “The history of poisoning in the future: lessons from Star Trek.”…

Their eggs must have been painful to lay. Pysanky artist Nancy Sims made a special Dalek-themed egg for a friend’s birthday. Here’s a stylishly geeky way to decorate a bare wall: Artist Justin Van Genderen has created a series of “minimalist” travel posters advertising destinations in the Star Wars universe. They’re rather reminiscent of the sleek-looking travel advertisements of the early part of the last century. These posters make me want to tour the Cloud City…

Super Punch recently pointed to this Photoshopping thread on Fark, featuring the theme, “Movie poster for movie that never existed, but should have.” Some of them are kind of awesome, like this rather poignant one for Ender’s Game. (I also love this one.)
