Apparently riding the wave of recent big-budget fantasy movies, Anne McCaffrey\u2019s Dragonriders of Pern<\/I> novels have been optioned by the Canadian film production company Copperheart Entertainment.<\/p>\n
I’m questioning this a little:<\/p>\n
“I decided that Pern had to be done right and I wouldn\u2019t let it go to someone unless I was certain that they were committed to excellence,” says Anne McCaffrey.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Copperheart is best known for the Ginger Snaps<\/I> series of angsty teen werewolf films, and is currently working on a remake of the 1970s cult horror flick Black Christmas<\/I>. I’m not sure how that squares up with “committed to excellence.”<\/p>\n
Anyway, dragons on the big screen. Whoo.<\/p>\n
