{"id":4693,"date":"2010-09-08T07:31:39","date_gmt":"2010-09-08T11:31:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/other-worlds-cafe.com\/news\/blog\/?p=4693"},"modified":"2010-09-07T13:40:36","modified_gmt":"2010-09-07T17:40:36","slug":"15-year-old-wil-wheaton-might-be-a-deadbeat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/other-worlds-cafe.com\/news\/blog\/?p=4693","title":{"rendered":"15-Year-Old Wil Wheaton Might be a Deadbeat\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;but grown-up Wil Wheaton is <em>awesome<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Teresa Jusino of Pink Raygun recently wrote a humorous <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pinkraygun.com\/2009\/03\/09\/wil-wheaton-is-a-deadbeat\/\">complaint<\/a> about having sent off a subscription card for the Wil Wheaton fan club 21 years ago and never receiving a response.<\/p>\n<p>Wheaton heard of her plight and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pinkraygun.com\/2009\/03\/11\/wil-wheaton-part-2-understanding-humor\/\">responded<\/a>, and wound up sending her an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pinkraygun.com\/2009\/03\/23\/wil-wheaton-part-3-the-last-member\/\">official fan club package<\/a> and letter, addressed to &#8220;8-year-old Teresa Jusino.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As she says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Wil didn\u2019t have to send this. He didn\u2019t have to respond to my article. It was a humor piece that I wrote for fun, and while the thought of him reading it crossed my mind, I certainly wasn\u2019t expecting him to, you know, <em>do anything about it<\/em>.  But he did, in a really sweet way.  And in doing so, he proved himself to be worthy of admiration not just for the cool blog posts, the stories he writes, the forums he heads up, or the roles he plays, but for being a pretty awesome human being. And for that, he gets a big thank you from Twenty-Nine Year Old Me. Don\u2019t get me wrong. Eight Year Old Me is very, very pleased.
