(Click the image to enlarge for full zombie Wookiee goodness.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Star-Wars-Troopers-Joe-Schreiber\/dp\/0345509625\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&#038;s=books&#038;tag=shadmano-20&#038;qid=1256050646&#038;sr=8-1\">Death Troopers<\/a> follows the adventures of a handful of survivors on an Imperial prison barge after everybody else contracts an horrific disease, dies, and <em>comes back to life (boogedy-boogedy)!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Del Rey is doing a little viral marketing with some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.randomhouse.com\/delrey\/starwars\/deathtroopers\/\/blog\/2009\/09\/10\/recovered-messages-from-the-imperial-prison-barge-purge-2\/\">intercepted messages<\/a> from the barge and a <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/TK329\">Twitter feed<\/a> from one of the Storm Troopers on board (I had no <em>idea<\/em> that Storm Troopers used Twitter).<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;ve just finished up a contest for a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.suvudu.com\/2009\/10\/death-troopers-video-contest.html\">fan-made trailer<\/a>, and there&#8217;s also a tie-in <a href=\"http:\/\/forums.station.sony.com\/swg\/posts\/list.m?topic_id=948905\">video game<\/a> planned.<\/p>\n<p>Reviewers over at Amazon are gushing that the book is wonderfully refreshing for the <i>Star Wars<\/i> franchise, and I&#8217;m sure that&#8217;s very nice, but I also think that this particular mashup is a pretty solid indicator that zombies have jumped the horribly-decayed-yet-reanimated-by-eldritch-forces shark.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Zombies and Star Wars.
