It turns out that there are quite a lot of species names honoring icons of pop culture, including a lichen named after Obama and a whole raft of species named after characters from <I>Star Wars<\/I>.<\/p>\n<p>Scientific Blogging has compiled a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scientificblogging.com\/run_and_tumble\/stephen_colbert_beetle_and_ten_more_pop_culture_biological_namesakes\">&#8220;Top Ten&#8221;<\/a> list.
