Chicago lost their bid for the 2008 Worldcon to Denver during the vote at LACon IV. So they’re gonna try again.

November 11, 2006, reporting from WindyCon “By a unanimous vote, the Chicago Worldcon Bid corporation decided to bid for a Worldcon in Chicago in 2012. A committee was named to define corporation membership levels for the future, and another to explore facilities options for 2012. The plan is for Dave McCarty to do a preliminary announcement at Smofcon in Kansas City, then an official announcement at the business meeting at Nippon 2007, with a launch party in Denver in 2008.”
