Flickr user absinthetic dressed up as a 19th-Century time traveler last Halloween, and built the “Chronotheric Fluxing Capacitron” to use as a prop. His photo set doesn’t give any detailed instructions, but there are enough different angles that it shouldn’t be too hard to put together something similar.

This would be a nice prop for “Pretend to be a Time Traveler” Day.
