New Hugo Award for 2007

The World Science Fiction Society business meetings conducted at LACon IV passed two WSFS constitutional amendments related to the Hugo Awards.

The Best Editor Hugo Award has now been split into two categories: Best Editor Short Form and Best Editor Long Form. The short form award is for editors of magazines, anthologies and collections. The long form award is for editors of novel length works. The new awards will be first presented at the 65th World Science Fiction Convention in 2007.

The second amendment asks WorldCon committees to request that artists, nominated for the Best Artist Hugo Award, cite at least three works that were first published in the year for which the award is being selected. This was the first passage of the amendment and it will only go into effect if it passed a second time at the 2007 convention.
