New visitors to the O*W*C chat room are sometimes mystified by the regulars' jokes and references. Paramount amongst these are the ubiquitous O*W*C squid, our mascots and therapy aids. Our chatters are very civilized...when they wish to express their disagreement with another's opinion they don't become upset, they simply hurl a squid at them. The squid also appear in large numbers when the chatters are feeling silly, and the chat soon degenerates into our version of a food fight.
Squid are the great equalizer.
